Debbie Shellhaas

Deborah (“Debbie”) L. Shellhaas has been involved in various artistic, community, and church
activities for a number of years. She has studied painting under the tutelage of such artists as Harris Holt and Stephen Shoemaker, in addition to completing numerous workshops conducted by other noted artists. While her passion is water color, she also enjoys painting in a variety of other mediums. Currently, she is a member of the Logan County Art League and serves on its Board of Directors.

In addition to painting, Debbie enjoys artistic quilting and sewing. She has been a member of numerous
sewing and quilting guilds. Debbie enjoys participating in community enhancing endeavors. In this regard, she serves on the Tree Commission of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Holland Theatre. She is one of the “Christmas Elfins” who assist in the Christmas decoration of Bellefontaine. Also, she is a member of Bellefontaine’s Rake & Hoe Garden Club and has served as past president of that organization.

Debbie is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bellefontaine. She serves the
Discipleship Committee, is a member of the United Methodist Women, and participates in
various church activities and services. She also is a substitute assistant in the Weekly Religious
Education program of Logan County. Debbie attended the University of North Carolina where she studied nursing and met her husband of 48 years, and has two sons and four grandchildren.
