BASIC TILE MAKING WORKSHOP
This workshop series promises to be an
opportunity to play with form and color!
This series will teach the basics of three
different ceramic tile designs: mosaic, relief,
and press mold tiles. Thelma will provide
basic instruction, demonstrations, and
technical assistance. Karen Feltham will be
assisting. This workshop series is hands-on
and paced so that participants will have
glazed tile(s) after each workshop. All of the
workshops will be held at Union Station,
613 Hamilton Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio.
Mosaic Design Workshop
Tuesdays, June 4, 11, 18 & 25
6:00 – 8:30 PM
In this workshop you will be creating a mosaic tile design. A form will be
provided. You will create your mosaic design, shape and cut the tiles as
you want them to fit together, glaze them beautiful colors, and fit them into
the provided form.
Relief Tile Workshop
Tuesdays, July 16 & 30
6:00 – 8:30 PM
“Relief” refers to raised elements that are on top of a flat tile
surface, like the carvings on the side of old buildings. From high
relief to low relief…you decide what you want to create. You will design
your tile, shape and construct the tile to create a relief, and glaze your
tile. Bring your own frame to the first class to learn how to fit your hand-
made tile into a pre-made frame.
The Logan County Art League organizes a variety of workshops. From technique to marketing and art business management. Please watch our calendar to see what is up and coming and consider attending.
