Donald Smith

I am a Brother, member of a religious order in the Catholic Church called the Marianists.  I recently celebrated a 50 year anniversary.  As an artist, I work mostly with clay,  I concentrate my efforts in a process called Raku, a low fire technique which produces crackled glaze effects and flashes of luster which depend on the chemicals that are in the glaze formula.  I also do portraits, working with pencil, both color and black and white.  Landscapes are another favorite pencil subject of mine. My works are in private collections throughout the states and in some foreign countries.
